“In the fight against spam, sometimes valid emails are caught by the spam filter.”
How often should I check my spam filter?
CNM recommends that you check your spam filter daily. Oftentimes, a valid email can be quarantined which is a possibility on all spam filters. This is referred to as a “false positive”. By releasing a valid email from the spam filter, it allows for training the spam filter and retrieval of timely email.
Email senders occasionally discover that they are entered onto blacklists due to spam activity being detected on their system. As a result, a recipient’s spam filter may quarantine the email until the underlying cause for the blacklist entry is removed.
Below you will find the instructions needed to check your quarantined mail items. If more specific information is required or if you are interested in signing up for our spam filtering service please contact us by email or phone 985.580.3040.
How to check you quarantined emails:
1. Via Web Browser
- Go to spamfilter.completenetwork.com
- Login with your email address and the password you received at setup
2. Via Outlook
You can set up a folder in Outlook to log you in and go directly to the quarantined email page
- First, open Outlook
- Create a new folder
- Right click on the folder
- Click Properties
- Select the Home Page Tab
- In the address field, enter the url you received at setup
*In some cases the url will be too long to fit into the space provided by Outlook. In this case you can set the address to http://spamfilter.completenetwork.com, but you will have to log in each time.
- Check the “Show home page by default for this folder” box
- Click Ok
- The Home page displays your domain’s basic settings.
- The Profile page allows you to update your password.
- The Spam page displays a list of currently quarantined emails.
Once an email has been released the sender will be allowed to send to you without their messages being quarantined again.
